How do you assess and evaluate risks in your company?

Risk analysis involves step-by-step assessment and evaluation. Two factors are crucial in assessment:

• the likelihood of occurrence of the identified cause and
• the scope of its repercussions.

The various risks can be represented in a diagram. It provides an image of the company’s risk. In evaluating risk, the question to ask is: “What should not happen?” The risk image can now be compared with the security objectives. This comparison indicates which of the identified risks require immediate action.
