Conditions that motivate

Incentives and shares in Zurich

In addition to a regular salary, our employees also receive a monetary incentive when business is good. This depends on the company’s results, as well as on the employee’s position and personal performance. You can also choose to invest a proportion of this incentive in Zurich shares, with preferential terms.


Back office staff receive interesting commissions when insurance policies are concluded with third parties as well as for successfully recruiting new employees.

Premium discounts and subsidies

Employees receive a 25% discount on non-life insurance from Zurich and a subsidy of 50% of the premium for life insurance up to a maximum CHF 5,000 depending on their degree of employment. Additionally, as an employee you benefit from preferential terms for mortgages and – thanks to Zurich’s collective agreement with Sanitas – a special price for health insurance.

Travel Option

Zurich offers attractive benefits for employees who use public transport to work.

Extended leave

After five years at Zurich, you are entitled to apply for unpaid vacation of between two and six months. The exact timing of your extended leave will be determined while taking into consideration the needs of the business. During your unpaid extended leave, your insurance coverage for compensation and accident insurance will continue.

Marriage, birth of a child and child allowances

Marriage, births or adoptions are causes for celebration. Employees receive a one-time sum of CHF 500 on such special occasions.
After giving birth or adopting, our female employees receive 100% of their salary paid over 20 weeks. Fathers are granted five days’ vacation in the event that their spouse or life partner gives birth. For your children, we will pay out child allowances according to the federal and cantonal regulations that apply where you work. 

Child daycare

In certain circumstances, we offer our employees subsidized daycare for their children.

Sports and culture

Zurich offers discounts on cultural events and sports clubs. Our company also has its own fitness facilities in and around Zurich, which you can use to keep yourself healthy. Go here for an overview of Zurich’s comprehensive range of sports and health-related activities.

Other discounts

Zurich employees enjoy a 20% discount when they buy Reka checks (annual maximum purchase: CHF 1,000). We also offer additional discounts on credit cards and mobile phones.


Economic Dividends for Gender Equality (EDGE) certification

To ensure a more diverse and inclusive workplace, a key area of focus is gender equality. We are proud to announce that Zurich is the first global insurer to receive Economic Dividends for Gender Equality (EDGE) certification in six of our markets including Switzerland.
