Greater safety for the next generation of ice hockey players

The "Program for Safety in Junior Ice Hockey" [Programm für Sicherheit im Eishockey-Nachwuchs] promotes the theme of safety in ice hockey. In collaboration with Swiss Ice Hockey, Zurich is offering clubs four modules: A vehicle check and driver safety training for coaches and support staff, so that the young players are safe on the road. A first-aid course for trainers and support staff, to deal with injuries correctly, and an online training course for parents. The latter module covers issues such as buying a helmet.

Zurich and Swiss Ice Hockey have launched the “Program for Safety in Junior Ice Hockey” to enable today’s young people to freely pursue their passion for ice hockey. The program gives clubs and parents valuable support to increase the safety of children on and off the ice. All clubs earn points in registered labels and are also certified.

Ambassador Nino Niederreiter about the safety program

«Many trainers, coaches and other volunteers make a huge contribution to ice hockey. They drive children to training and matches, sometimes over long distances. It's great that Swiss Ice Hockey and Zurich are supporting these important people in all clubs, helping them to provide the greatest possible safety for the players."

Nino Niederreiter, ambassador for the «program for safety in junior ice hockey»
