Opera for All

"Season Opening for All"

Since 2014, Zurich has been bringing opera to a wider audience with its “Opera for All” program, inviting members of the public to watch performances by the Opernhaus Zürich for free at open-air events at the Sechseläutenplatz. The live broadcast from the opera house projected on a large screen has now become a mainstay of Zurich’s cultural scene.

The Zurich Opera House will celebrate the beginning of a new season in 2021 with a major "Season Opening for All". The climax will be the live broadcast of the season's premiere of "Salome" on a big screen on the Sechseläutenplatz on Sunday, September 12 and simultaneous worldwide online streaming. The recording of the ballet production "Messa da Requiem" will be shown on the square on Saturday evening, September 11.
