General travel

The situation regarding coronavirus is constantly evolving and depending on the rates of new infections in the individual countries, it can change very rapidly. 
For information on the current situation at your destination, please refer to the FDFA and FOPH websites.

As a matter of principle, the insurance cover is governed by factors such as travel warnings of the FDFA and of the FOPH as well as official measures (e.g. travel restrictions and quarantine measures imposed by the country of destination).

Attention: For trips booked after March 13, 2020, the following applies: 

If a travel warning or official restrictions already existed at the time of booking and you have thus been unable to make the trip, you are not eligible for insurance cover.

Moreover, trips are not insured if the policies were concluded after March 13, 2020 and the trip was cancelled due to travel warnings or official measures that had already existed when the contract was concluded and had not been lifted as of the planned start of the trip.

If the trip needs to be cancelled for other reasons (e.g. health issues such as Covid-19 infection), insurance coverage exists in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions. 

Package tours

If you have booked trip through a tour operator, please contact the tour operator in question. If the tour is cancelled by the organizer, the customer has the choice, in accordance with the rules of the Package Travel Act,  of either receiving a refund of the amounts paid or selecting a different package tour offered by the tour operator (Art. 11 para. 1 in conjunction with Art. 10 para. 3 of the Package Tours Act).

Customized tours

If a tour operator cancels or should have canceled a tour, the operator is obligated to reimburse the cost of the tour. Many hotels, airlines and travel portals offer no-fee booking changes and/or refunds. The first step is to contact your travel operator.

Wedding Insurance

Epidemics, pandemics and related official measures are not covered by the wedding insurance. We kindly ask you to contact your organizer if you have any further questions and thank you for your understanding.
