Protect your solar systems and heat pumps
Zurich offers special insurance solutions for solar systems and heat pumps, reducing the risk of financial loss in the event of damage.
Sustainability is important to Zurich. Not only is Zurich minimizing its own ecological footprint, the insurance company is also actively supporting a green transition in the mobility sector, as well as in energy and heat production.
Special insurance solutions protect solar systems and heat pumps against damage. Because when the system stops working seamlessly, it can become an expensive issue.
Zurich covers the loss of income from photovoltaic systems, that is, when feed-in remuneration is forfeited as a result of system failure. In the case of solar thermal systems, additional costs incurred by temporary heating provision are insured. In addition, there is also precautionary cover for new acquisitions, new locations and expansions (up to 20% of the sum insured and a maximum of 20,000 Swiss francs).
It doesn't matter if the damage is caused by wind, storm, defect, or human error. Insurance covers the new replacement value for modules/collectors during the first ten years of operation.
Solar insurance also pays out for the forfeited feed-in remuneration in the event of fire or hail damage, if such damage is already covered by separate insurance which does not protect against loss of income.
Geothermal probe and heat pump insurance provides cover for the equipment and related systems against damage caused by storms, geological changes, material defects, human error and data loss. Geothermal heat exchangers are insured up to their new replacement value for the first 20 years of operation. Even the additional costs relating to replacement systems are covered. In addition, there is also precautionary cover for new acquisitions, new locations and expansions (up to 20% of the sum insured and a maximum of 20,000 Swiss francs).
