In detail

As a self-employed person, you are not legally required to take out accident insurance according to LAI. This also applies to family members working for your business. Zurich Accident Insurance for self-employed persons protects you against the financial consequences of an accident. This is voluntary accident insurance.

Medical expenses insurance for self-employed persons

  • Accommodation and treatment in an agreed-upon ward (private or semi-private)
  • No limits in terms of indemnity or timing
  • Free choice of physician and hospital in Switzerland
  • Pays for emergency transport, rescue and recovery costs, search efforts up to CHF 20,000

Security in the event of short-term inability to work (daily sickness benefits insurance)

  • The greater an individual’s incapacity to work, the greater the financial support from Zurich
  • Zurich pays per accident for a maximum of 720 days within five years following the accident
  • Choose between indemnity insurance (with proof of inability to work and loss of income; benefits from third parties such as disability benefits are included in calculations) and sum insurance (only requires proof of incapacity to work; third-party benefits are not included in calculations)
  • Your choice of waiting periods

Supplement for hospitalization and health resort stays

  • Daily benefit in the event of hospitalization to cover additional private expenses starting on the first day
  • Benefits are paid per accident for a maximum 1,800 days

Financial support for long-term disability for self-employed persons

  • One-off capital payout or annuity payments in lieu of income
  • Payment amounts increase with the degree of severity of the disability
  • Financial support for remodeling homes or apartments to make them accessible for the disabled
  • Zurich works fast to deliver funds needed in emergencies
  • Financial help with purchasing the necessary aids and appliances
  • Your choice of benefit alternatives: Zurich pays up to 350% of the sum insured
